New Discounted Price - 10/100 BaseT/TX - 100 Base FX Fiber Medai Converters

The Computer Cable Store has drastically reduced the price on our 10/100 Multimode Media Converters.

In response to the increasing demand for fiber optic cabling, we offer it's TEC Optix Solutions Media Converter Series as a concrete and affordable answer. Our media converters offer a highly intelligent solution for extending long distance connections between 10 Base TX and 100 Base TX networks. Solutions are offered in both single mode SC along with multi mode solutions in conjunction with MTRJ, LC, SC and ST fiber applications. MC100 and MC120 Series The MC100 and MC120 series has several easy to read LEDs that detect link, transmit/receive, and full/half duplex status. The MC100 is among the most functional media converters in the market. The RJ45 port offers dual speed, 10/100Mbps, auto negotiation and auto MDIX. Design is aimed at accommodating the 412 meter distance limitation when connecting hub to work station. Solutions can also extend to 75Km in conjunction with certain single mode applications. Also available is a 19" rack mountable chassis that holds as many as 16 individual units from our extensive offering of media converters.

100 Gigabit Ethernet: Bridge to Terabit Ethernet

IT managers who are getting started with -- or even pushing the limits of -- 10 Gigabit Ethernet in their LANs and data centers won't have to wait long for higher speed connectivity.
Podcast: Pushing Beyond 100 Gigabit EthernetSlideshow: The evolution of Ethernet
Pre-standard 40 Gigabit and 100 Gigabit Ethernet products -- server network interface cards, switch uplinks and switches -- are expected to hit the market later this year. And standards-compliant products are expected to ship in the second half of next year, not long after the expected June 2010 ratification of the 802.3ba standard.
The IEEE, which began work on the standard in late 2006, is expected to define two different speeds of Ethernet for two different applications: 40G for server connectivity and 100G for core switching.

Cabling Installation and Maintenance Reports on Cable Fraud

"CCCA cautions: Don't always believe the jacket
The Communications Cable and Connectivity Association (CCCA; www.cccassoc.org) recently released details of an investigation it conducted into the fire-safety performance of cables from a number of offshore manufacturers. The association did not name the manufacturers in its release or in an interview with Cabling Installation & Maintenance, but did say they are not well-known brands in the U.S.

In its investigation, the CCCA commissioned an independent laboratory to analyze whether nine randomly selected samples from these manufacturers met U.S. minimum requirements for performance and safety. Eight of the nine samples failed to meet minimum code requirements for fire-safety performance. “Many of the samples failed the flame-spread and smoke tests catastrophically,” the organization said in a statement. . . . . ."

Cat 5 e cable is an enhanced version of Cat 5 that adds specifications for far end crosstalk. It was formally defined in 2001 as the TIA/EIA-568-B standard, which no longer recognizes the original Cat 5 specification. Although 1000BASE-T was designed for use with Cat 5 cable, the tighter specifications associated with Cat 5e cable and connectors make it an excellent choice for use with 1000BASE-T.
